In 2014, '15, & '16...
he was selected to Coach a USTA Zonal's Team as well as Team Tennessee in the annual Southern Cup Team.
In 2016 he was also selected to Coach a 10's Team at the 1st Annual Southern 10's Team Championships in Chattanooga, TN.
Also in 2015 & 2016 Coach Poole Coached a Junior Team Tennis 18's Advanced Team of Jacob Marshall, Jacob Lorino, Andrew Morton, Stone Cozart, Charlie Moseley, Tyler Blalock, Lauren Yoon, & Erin Allan that won the Tennessee State Championships, Southern Sectional Championships and went on to finish 4th two consecutive years in a row at the National Championships..
On numerous occasions he has been chosen to Coach USTA TN 10's Camps throughout Tennessee.
Personal Tennis Career....
Coach Poole grew up in Kingsport, TN where he played his High School Tennis at Dobyns-Bennett H.S. There he played #1 Singles & Doubles all "4" years finishing with one of the best overall records in school history. He was a "3" Time District Singles Champion as well as a District & Regional Doubles Champion and named The Big 7 Conference Player of the Year his senior year. Through his USTA Junior career he remained ranked in the top of the TN State Rankings in both Singles & Doubles.
After High School he played the 2000-2001 season on scholarship at ETSU under then Coach Dave Mullins before starting his teaching career full time. That year the Bucs were Southern Conference Regular Season Champions.
In 2011 Coach Poole finished up as the #1 Ranked Men's 25's Singles & Doubles (partnered with longtime friend & Former Touring Pro Ben Rogers) player in the USTA Southern Section as well as in the state of Tennessee.
Previous Teaching & Coaching Experience includes seven years as the Head Tennis Professional at the Country Club of Bristol. During that time he also coached the Tennessee High School Boys & Girls Tennis Teams earning Coach of the Year honors as well as helping lead his Girls Team to the TSSAA State Semi-Finals. Prior to moving to Bristol Coach Poole also taught at the Ridgefields Country Club as well as directed the Eastman Summer Adult & Youth Programs during his "4" years of High School. Other jobs include Kingsport City Parks & Rec Tennis Instructor as well as volunteer assisting with both Dobyns-Bennett High School, Tennessee High School and Abingdon High Schools Tennis Teams. Coach Poole has had numerous players go on to play College Tennis at all levels.
David and wife Michelle Poole reside in Bristol, TN where together they raise three handsome sons in Jacob, Ryder, and Zayden.
